About this Picture

I drove to the Katzensee with a friend after work. We did not really know what to shoot and just started to walk around the little lake. The sun was about to set and the whole scene was immersed in an intense orange light, while the sky was already turning dark blue. I noticed the duck sitting in the water, not moving at all. I set up the tripod and studied the subject. I noticed the branch that was literally pointing to the animal and placed the grasses in the lower left corner. I had plenty of time to take my photographs, playing with the focal length and always changing the framing of the picture. Even when I left after several minutes, the duck was still sitting there, sill not moving.
